The 2008 ICF Nordic Election - Call for Candidates/Nominations
 
This letter marks the official launch of the 2008 ICF Nordic Election Process. ICF Nordic members will elect
·         The President Elect 2007 (to become President in 2008)
·         The President Elect 2008 (to become President in 2009)
·         Four (4) new members of the Board of Directors (seats vacant for one candidate from Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland respectively)  
·         Five (5) new deputy directors (seats vacant for one candidate from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland respectively), and
·         The statutory auditor of ICF Nordic
 
We - as members in this year's Nominating Committee - want you to know the serious intention of this committee to present to you a strong list of candidates through a fair and careful selection process. We encourage and invite you to step forward and participate actively in this process. We are sure that all of you are aware how critically important it is for ICF Nordic to continue to have a strong leadership from around the Nordic region.
 
The nomination process timeline is as follows:  
 
15/10 - 31/10
Call for Candidates/Nominations
1/11 - 20/11
Nominating Committee does its due diligence (studying bios, verifying, evaluating, interviewing, researching and selecting)
21/11:     
List Of Nominees (candidates) announced to all members
22/11 - 26/11:
Call for petitions (any qualified member not on the list can place his or her name on the list as candidate (independent))
28/11:    
The ICF Nordic 2008 Ballot announced by e-mail to all members 
29/11 - 6/12:
Voting Window (on-line anonymous voting utilizing an independent balloting and research firm)
7/12 - 12/12:  
Tabulating and reporting (by independent balloting and research firm)
13/12:  
Notification of candidates as to the status of their results
14/12:
Public announcement of the election results by e-mail to all members and simultaneously on the ICF Nordic Website!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 NOTE!!!  The Call for Candidates/Nominations deadline is Wednesday, October 31, 2007.
 
To participate as candidate in the nomination process and to qualify for election you must 
  1. have enrolled as a member of ICF Nordic prior to August 29, 2007 (3 months prior to the first election day)
  2. be of age (i.e. 18 years old) and
  3. be in coach training under - or be candidates of - a coach training program.  
Candidates seeking nomination for the office of President Elect 2007 must also have completed 120 hours of coach training with the intention of becoming ICF credentialed coach (ICF Global requirement). Due to the rotation principle laid down in the by-laws only candidates, who are residents of Sweden, Finland or Iceland are eligible for this position this year. 
 
Candidates seeking nomination for the office of President Elect 2008 must also have completed 120 hours of coach training with the intention of becoming credentialed AND must undertake an obligation to hold ICF credentials from January 1, 2009 (ICF Global requirement). Due to the rotation principle laid down in the by-laws only candidates, who are residents of Sweden, Norway, Finland or Iceland are eligible for this position this year.
