Coach Training Organizations
Please note that ICF approves individual coach training programs rather than coach training schools. An organization may use the appropriate ICF program logo in their marketing efforts and materials when presenting, promoting or referring to a program that has been approved by the ICF.
The ICF is proud to offer coach training program approval, by which coach training programs submit to review and continuing oversight to demonstrate their commitment to the highest standards for curricula, the ICF-defined core competencies, faculty, structure, proficiency, and ethics to support excellence in the training of coaches.
ICF offers two types of approval for initial coach training:

1. Accredited Coach Training Programs (ACTP)

2. Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH)

In addition, the ICF also offers coach specific programs the opportunity to apply to become a:

Continuing Coaching Education Approved Provider (CCE)

ACTP
A coach training organization with an ACTP accredited program may use the ACTP logo when presenting the program. The organization may state the program can fulfill the coach training, mentor coaching, and examination requirements for an ACC or PCC credential, depending on the length of the program. It must be clearly stated that completion of the program will not automatically lead to an ICF Credential. The phrase ACC/PCC training may be used. A phrase like ACC/PCC certified or examined coach may not be accepted. This will be considered misleading as the training hours are only a part of the ACC/PCC credentialing process.
ACSTH
A coach training organization with an ACSTH approved program may use the ACSTH logo when presenting the program. The organization may state the program can fulfill the coach training requirement for an ACC or PCC credential depending on the length of the approved program. It must be clearly stated that the training will not automatically lead to a credential. It must also be clearly stated that graduates of an ACSTH must use a portfolio application for a credential, which includes an exam. The phrase ACC/PCC training may be used. The phrase ACC/PCC certified or examined coach will not be accepted. This will be considered misleading as the training hours are only a part of the ACC/PCC credentialing process.
